The High Country Library gives you access to a collection of over 100,000 items shared between six branches and the Mobile Library. Our collection is constantly on the move around the region and thousands of items are purchased every year so there will always be something new available at your branch.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

North East:

Every local historians dream! The North-East collection at the Wangaratta Library is a must for any local history buff.  This unique collection boasts an extensive range of books and materials on and from the North-East area.  It includes out of print publications, microfiche and microfilm information and many accounts of the life and times of Ned Kelly.

Please note that the items in this collection are not for loan, although many items are duplicated in our general collection.

Parenting:

The Parenting collection is housed at the Mansfield branch and is a selection of books, videos and CD-ROMs designed to meet the needs of parents and carers of children with special needs.  The collection is for both adults and juniors, your local branch has a list of the titles that are available.

Italian:

In tune with the cultural history of the North-East, Wangaratta and Myrtleford libraries have a range of Italian language books and videos that can be accessed through other branches.  Popular titles and classics as well as a selection of magazines and children's books are on offer.
